Recent Victories

Cultivation of Marijuana– Client was charged with cultivating marijuana.  Over 125 pounds of marijuana were recovered by police inside his home.  After Ms. Dodson highlighted the problems with the government’s search, the district attorney’s office dismissed the case and Ms. Dodson’s client was free of all charges.

Sale of Marijuana– Client was charged with possessing marijuana for sale and selling marijuana.  After a lengthy preliminary hearing, the judge dismissed all charges against Ms. Dodson’s client.

Transportation and Sale of Marijuana– Client was charged with transporting and possession for sale of Marijuana.  After police found marijuana in his vehicle, police searched his home to which he had consented.  The search of his home which yielded a pound of marijuana, baggies, and a scale.  Although consensual searches are difficult to fight, Ms. Dodson still managed to get the case dismissed.

Transportation and Sale of Methamphetamine– Police conducted a sting operation with an informant and undercover narcotics officers.  The district attorney’s office had recorded phone conversations where police arranged for a sale of one pound of methamphetamine.  This one pound was apparently a “sample” which would later lead to a sale of 13 more pounds of methamphetamine.  After client attempted to sell the pound of methamphetamine to the undercover officer, his vehicle was searched and yielded a secret compartment in his vehicle which police determined was for drug trafficking.  Client was facing several years in state prison.  After lengthy negotiations with the district attorney, Ms. Dodson secured a plea bargain that allowed Ms. Dodson’s client to only serve a week in county jail and probation.

Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Firearm in a Vehicle– Ms. Dodson’s client was charged with possessing a rifle in a vehicle and methamphetamine.  Client was not a citizen and faced deportation.  Ms. Dodson managed to get the charge involving methamphetamine dismissed and Ms. Dodson’s client was allowed to plea to a misdemeanor for the firearm.  Therefore, Ms. Dodson’s client served no jail time and was not deported.  He remains in the United States legally working and will still be allowed to obtain citizenship.
